Every horse has a story to tell.
Sometimes it's in the way they move.
Sometimes it's in their behavior.
Sometimes it's hidden beneath years of compensation, discomfort, or unanswered questions.
That's why Topline Animal Services was built—to look beyond the obvious, help owners better understand their horses, and support each animal as an individual.

Sara Carter – Founder • Educator • Performance & Recovery Specialist
Sara Carter is the founder and lead Rehab Therapist. With over 30 years of hands-on experience in the equine industry, Sara brings a rare blend of practical horsemanship, academic rigor, and holistic healing to every client she serves.
Her journey began in the saddle—riding before she could walk and teaching since the late 1980s. She has helped countless riders achieve their dreams, specializing in disciplines such as dressage, eventing, jumpers, hunters, equitation, western basics, gaited horses, pleasure riding, colt starting, trailer breaking, round penning, problem solving, and confidence-building for fearful or special needs riders. She previously held certifications as a Special Olympic Coach, PATH Intl Instructor, and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning.
Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine focus and is certified in a wide array of advanced therapies, including:
She is also a Certified Instructor for Equi-First Aid USA and A Stable Connection's Principles of Equine Nutrition, sits on Equi-First Aid USA’s Advisory Board for Bodywork and Rehab, and serves as a Simply Equine/K9 GA Brand Ambassador. Her ongoing research with TransAgra explores innovative nutritional support for EPM horses.
Sara's approach begins with listening—to the horse, to the owner, and to the story each case presents. Rather than focusing on a single symptom, she evaluates movement, posture, nervous system function, nutrition, management, and the many factors that can influence a horse's comfort and performance. She believes the best outcomes often come through thoughtful assessment, owner education, and collaboration with the horse's veterinary and care team.
She regularly teaches educational classes and clinics across the Southeast, has written for national industry magazines, and speaks at public events to empower owners with knowledge and confidence in their animals’ care.
Currently, Sara is expanding her expertise in Equine Muscular Rehab, Saddle Fitting, and Ozone & Cryotherapy, while also publishing curriculum for one of the schools she attended and contributing to active research projects.
With a lifetime in the saddle and a relentless drive to keep learning, Sara offers clients the best of both worlds—science-backed healing and intuitive horsemanship, all rooted in compassion and results.

"Top line has improved the health of my horses. They are able to physically perform movements they couldn’t do. One of my horses could not be ridden and now she is pain free. Sara even got on her for me to help work out her issues."
Alice
"I cannot say enough good things about Sara and the work she does. She truly has magic hands. I have personally watched her bring so many horses back to performance condition and, more importantly, back to moving comfortably and happily again.
The difference she makes is incredible. Not just physically, but mentally too. Horses that come to her tight, sore, resistant, or uncomfortable leave moving softer, freer, and visibly relieved. Some of the changes happen almost immediately and overnight.
What amazes me most is how the horses respond to her. So many of them absolutely know who she is the moment she walks in, and you can genuinely see the trust they have in her. They relax around her, seek her out, and respond in ways that are impossible to fake.
If you care about your horse’s comfort, performance, and overall wellbeing, I truly cannot recommend her enough. The results speak for themselves"

While every case is different and no practitioner can promise specific outcomes, you can always expect honesty, thoughtful recommendations, and a willingness to look beyond the obvious in search of contributing factors.
When we work together, you can expect:
My goal isn't simply to perform a service—it's to help you better understand your horse and become an informed, confident advocate for their long-term health, comfort, and performance.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with thousands of horses across eight states, from beloved backyard companions to high-level performance horses representing a wide variety of breeds, disciplines, and backgrounds. Every horse has taught me something new, reinforcing my belief that no two cases are exactly alike.
My work has grown far beyond hands-on appointments. Today, I'm proud to serve as a member of the Equi-First Aid USA Advisory Board, teach owner-level certification courses throughout the Southeast, write for equine industry publications, speak at educational events, and continue pursuing advanced education to better serve both horses and the people who love them.
